We have extensive experience in the NDT inspection of wind power generation assets. We are fully conversed in BS EN 11666 & DNVGL-CG-0051 ultrasonic standards and the methodology of testing TMCP steels. NDT Assessment Services have been involved in numerous ultrasonic testing campaigns on wind turbine jackets ensuring the integrity of the node & cross- brace weld joints, J-tubes & transition pieces. We have an extensive contact list of PCN ultrasonic 3.2 /3.9 qualified technicians that also hold the IPAF MEWP Mobile Extended Boom License and/or IRATA Rope Access Level 2 qualification.
We offer a full range of inspection services to the oil and gas industry and have technicians on standby ready for mobilization. All offshore NDT inspectors have OPITO HUET/BOSIET, MIST, IRATA, working at height and confined space entry qualifications as standard. We offer all methods of NDT testing, painting/coatings inspection, welding inspection and can supply API 570 Piping Inspector & API 510 Pressure Vessel Inspectors. We offer semi-automated phased array ultrasonic pipe weld scanning & also pipe corrosion mapping.
Our experience in the inspection of steam turbines, combined cycle gas turbine and generator rotor components is unchallenged. Our technicians have extensive experience of testing power generation assets. We can confidently perform NDT inspections on in-service turbine & generator components such as turbine spindles, generator rotors, turbine cylinders, disc inspection, turbine blading, wedge bars, coils, generator end rings, composite waterboxes, bearings, journals, flame tubes, thrust pads, hydrogen seals, stud bolts, valve heads & seats.
NDT Assessment Services has technicians suitability qualified in PCN Ultrasonic Level 2 Cast Products. Technicians are typically conversed in BSEN 12680 ASTM A609 standards. We have a wide range of probes to utilize ranging low frequency to high frequency . We have broad experience of ultrasonic testing in-service castings. We also have operators qualified in phased array inspection in the castings sector.
NDT Assessment Services has technicians qualified in PCN Ultrasonic Level 2 Forgings & also Wrought Products. Some of our current technicians have years of experience working in a heavy drop forge testing rings, tubes, discs, bars & bosses daily to standards such as ASTM A388, BSEN 10228, ASTM 745, BSEN 10160, SAE AMS-STD-2154, Defstan 02. We can test forgings, wrought products, flat steels and perform bar stock assessments at request. We have a wide range of carbon steel and austenitic steel calibration and reference blocks to utilize or we can employ a Distance Gain Sizing (DGS) system where the UT standard permits. We have comprehensive experience of testing in-service forgings locating fatigue cracks, stress corrosion cracking, creep or other in-service conditions. We also have operators qualified in phased array inspection in the forgings sector.
Non destructive tests are quality controlled test methods routinely used in industry to assess and evaluate materials without damaging the item being assessed so that it can be or continue to be used. These analysis techniques are used to identify discontinuities and differences in material characteristics to ensure product or asset integrity and reliability. NDT testing is often carried out on metals to assess the integrity of the stock material prior to complex machining or forging. Welded fabrications and final machined components are often subject to NDT testing to verify component integrity prior to putting it into service. Thrust pad & white metal bearing linings can be tested to ensure an adequate bond. NDT is often introduced to improve quality and reduce costs and is a proven method to ensure reliable production or operating processes. NDT inspection services can ensure reliable and safe performance and reduces operating failures, material losses, asset losses and downtime. NDT will support your saving costs and reduce intrusive inspections to a minimum.
